What is international call forwarding?
It means that a phone call to one number is automatically forwarded (or redirected) to another phone number. In this case an international phone number.
Here is an example: Anne calls a local number in Sydney and the call gets automatically forwarded to the cell phone of Jim in the US. Anne doesn’t have to pay for an international call, as she made a local call to Sydney. Jim on the hand pays for incoming calls from Sydney to his cell phone in the US.
Jim offers this number to his customers in Australia. Instead of having an actual phone line there, this so called virtual phone number allows him to get local calls
